Years later

Wow, it's been a few... Years. I'm actually surprised I kept it up as long as I did. A lot has changes since those days of newly wedded bliss. We lost Shugar Bear on November 14, 2011. I miss her everyday. Bubba came to us in February and left us in a whirlwind on November 17, 2012. All I can say is that my life will never be the same again.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes

Wheeeeee! Do you see em? Those little things under my eyes? Those are my lower lashes! Lower lashes that I thought would never make an appearance. So, I love this mascara. I didn't snap use it earlier because I don't like the color purple (for a very personal and stupid reason). No idea what this 4 in 1 mascara is supposed to cover in the 4, but I know that this is some sweet stuff. The wand is a spiny tapered caterpillar, but whatever it is it works.

DuWop Lash Venom

DuWop Lash Venom. I really like to word DuWop, wasn't that one of the Hansen Brother's songs? Well, that kinda ruined it for me. Anyways, this is the first time I have encountered a teeny tiny mascara wand in the teeny tiny trial sizes. FYI, I simply adore miniature products and trial sizes. Admittedly, I am a little obsessed. So, I really liked that when you uncap this mascara, the wand was actually porportional to the tube size instead of a huge wand in a tiny tube. I kinda wonder what the wand of the regular sized tube is like? Again, I find myself repeating, great extension of the lashes, minimal volume.

Stila Multi-Effect Mascara

As I continue my path down this mascara adventure, I really must admit that it is starting to feel like I am repeating myself over and over again. I mean, seriously? How many ways are there to describe a mascara wand and it's effects on your lashes? Here we go again. I am determined to finish what I started. So, for the first time we encounter a wand that is slightly curved on one side. While I can see how it would be helpful to some people, all it made me do was blop in the corner of my eye. The tip seems to hold onto a tremendous blop which I clumsily smeared on my face. Other than that, it did a very good job at lengthening my lashes and it was about average in the volume department.

Korres Provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara

Okay, I gotta say that I am pretty impressed with this mascara by Korresnatural Products because of the fact that it is a natural product. Don't get me wrong, I am all for natural/organic/good for the earth products, I just never thought that a natural mascara would be comparable to those loaded with super secret synthetic lash boosters but here we are. The applicator wand is once again a fat caterpillar schooled in the ways of separating lashes. It went on smoothly and did well making my lashes longer. Not much in the way of thickening, but I was really happy with the results.

Too Faced Lash Injection

Lash Injection, sounds like something synthetic, huh? Well it certainly smells like something that walked out of a plastics factory. I have never really thought about the smell of mascara, I guess cuz I never really noticed it either way, that is until now. The gook smells REALLY strange. I actually sniffed the wand a few times because it is reminiscent of something that I have smelled before, but I can't seem to pin point it. Anyways, despite it's stinkiness, it does have other pros and cons. Pros? This stinky concoction REALLY extends your lashes and it's applicator is a skinny mini little wand that they dubbed the "pinpoint," which would do great detail work if the mascara itself were not so sticky. Cons? Doesn't seem to add any volume to the lashes and mistakes are a very bad idea as I discovered first hand when I botched the second coat and ended up with all my lashes stuck together in a big clump. Something else interesting I discovered when trying to correct my error, you can pull the mascara off your lashes in black gluey blobs. I think this mascara would be way better if it didn't have such a noticeable stench because it extends your lashes quite well, but for me personally (and I can be a moron at the best of times) it was just too difficult to use.
